Biography:

Bilbo Baggins is a Hobbit, residing in his comfortable home, Bag End, in the Shire.

He first appears in J.R.R. Tolkien's novel, *The Hobbit*. Bilbo leads a simple, uneventful life until the wizard Gandalf and a company of thirteen dwarves recruit him for a perilous quest to reclaim their treasure from the dragon Smaug.

Initially reluctant, Bilbo proves surprisingly resourceful and brave during the adventure. He discovers a magical ring which renders him invisible, a find that plays a significant role in later events.

Following his return to the Shire, Bilbo is forever changed by his experiences, having gained wisdom, courage, and a taste for adventure.
